  2. special house tour during frieze L.A. by another pal, Emma C. You just need to sub to her newsletter to hear about it. She arranges v. good snoop-y house access (like the toy hill house by FLW in new york, and the max cetto house in mexico city)

  3. Our main story today:

We gaze so frequently upon the gorgeous, seductive range of décor images produced for the eye of the interiors-interested. This is “Interiors Photography”, capital i capital p. It’s very good. If you know us by now, you know our top source is M_R.A.A.D of “FOR SCALE” pal and also THE LIBRARY.

ASIDE: latest “FOR SCALE LIBRARY”™ addition

This is care of pal Karl F. of phenomenally successful and endlessly intriguing Studio KO, which he referred to as (paraphrase) ‘a very regular source of inspiration’ when last we at their Very Top Tier office in Paris.

It’s like all about Gene Moore and the sh*t he did for Tiff*ny’s window displays. And it’s surreal, and it’s f*cking simple, and we want this sort of vibe in windows at décorshops who can ONLY seem to manage straight-on utter “this-should-be-your-living-room” setups. GIVE US SOMETHING TO GODD*MN DREAM ABOUT!!! We beg.

IN ANY CASE and to that point, we aspire for the décorworld, and anyone really who seeks to improve (i.e. deepen their relationship to, i.e. personalize) their interiors to look BROADLY.

‘Tis the reason why we put together a little show of images of exceptional lessons and emotion, none of which are Interiors Photography, currently on show at U.S.M. in New York! (We did this together with fantastic and brainy “FOR SCALE” super pal Holly Hay.)

images by MARCO GALLOWAY and ELLIE PATTERSON, thank u 2 them

THE ARTISTS are major: Alessandro Furchino Capria, Brian Griffin, Takashi Homma, Yushi Li, Joanna Piotrowska, Scheltens & Abbenes, Dorothea Sing Zhang, Alec Soth, Hannah Starkey, and Larry Sultan

There’s a super ltd edition catalog that GF Smith printed for us, that’s very first come first served, go get !

May we please tell you a bit about WHY and also some DÉCOR IDEAS that emerged while assembling.

The world of décor absolutely mimics our interior world (i.e. our psyches) in that: it must accommodate MISCHIEF, HUMOR, EXHAUSTION, AROUSAL, CHAOS, et cetera. And yet, in the pages of so many “ASPIRATIONAL” décor magazines, we see little of this. (We see the inoffensive, the neutered, the blank, the “perfect”.) This despite the fact that so many photographers, of course, are super talented at showing us the EXTENSIVE, MEANDERING EMOTIONAL RANGE of furniture and its arrangements. They do it both intentionally and otherwise.

“SIT WITH THAT” appreciates those very photographers.

LET US DISCUSS THREE:
