Dear Snoops,

Los Angeles is a frustrating as f*ck city to visit. So f*cking vast! Highly limited walkability et cetera! AND YET it is precisely this that makes it an absolutely THRILLING city to know. B/c it doesn’t put out; you have to learn it thru hearing a billion different little secrets from a billion different people. This guide is just that.

TODAY: MANY SECRETS ARE REVEALED.

Many “FOR SCALE” super pals have contributed their very highly off-list recommendations for the décor-minded, off-piste Los Angeles visitor or Lifer.

CRUCIAL “LOS ANGELES” INTEL INCLUDES:

very ‘random’ little Japanese lunch spots; civic buildings of High Inspiration Value; acceptable places for a bougie drink; a list of the best wood-paneled restau-bar-cafés (and shops); best people-watching; sites of cult and spirituality; a fully intact now-shuttered restaurant that u can snoop thru a window; et cetera.

CONTRIBUTING SUPER PALS INCLUDE:

22RE’S DEAN LEVIN. THE FORMER DUO OF L.A. DOOR (now independently top-tier!): DOUG McCOLLOUGH and KATIE PAYNE. YEARS’ TYLER POLICH. AUNT’S NOAM SARAGOSTI. “HACKS” WRITER CAROLYN LYPKA. OUR BOY of MANY DESIGN CREDS, JOSEPH ROSEN. THE ULTRA-SELLERS of FORMAS. TWO IN-THE-KNOWEST PR MAESTRAS MEARA DALY and GILLIAN STURTEVANT. WOODSY REAL ESTATE GURU SAM ARNESON. ONE OF FEW HOTELIERS TO MATTER: ARI HECKMAN. SUPER PAL RACHEL SHILLANDER. GALLERIST and FELLOW CANADIAN ROSA PARK. FURNITURE AND SPACES BOI, WILLETT. and, JERALD COOPER of HOOD CENTURY!

With some special visual support from a favored Los Angeles visitor of ours: Luis Mendoza.

BASIC CULTURE TO REVIEW:

  • READ THE BOOK: EVERYTHING NOW - simply the best

  • READ THE BOOK: DAYDREAM HOUSES OF LOS ANGELES - sets the tone!

  • And, there r so many good films about Los Angeles but our favorite is THE ANNIVERSARY PARTY mainly cause it all takes place in a very top-tier homesphere

Shall we get into it?
