A MANIFESTO
1 OBJECTS ARE INTERCOURSE (the communication kind)
The clothes one wears, for most, are changed daily. What is communicated by our homemaking, by requiring an invitation to view and being more of a permanent installation of taste, carries more gravitas.
2 OBJECTS ARE NOT APOLITICAL
The gulf between a freshly minted Eames shell chair and one that has endured three-quarters of a century could not be stretched further. In a single form, two different messages: the former is an indulgence of consumerism, the latter a celebration of durability
3 HABITAT IS A MEDIUM
The dining table is an arena for love and war; the bed and its frame are a vessel to carry us into the subconscious.
4 OBJECTS SHOULD NOT BE OBJECTIFIED Â
Death to the Experience Economy. The capitalized âExperienceâ is a dodge from the âeverydayâ, which many wrongfully write off as monotonous. Your dinner table is a space for romance, argument, party. Your bed for rest, sex, nightmares.
We caution: the objects within that space are not passive, they are seeds.
